Not just any Month.

In two days, Ramadan will start, inshaAllah (If God wills). Ramadan is a holy month that Muslims observe fast from sunrise to sunset for approximately thirty days; “Ramadhan is the (month) in which the Qur’an was sent down, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting.” Quran (2:185) . And mind you, we are not starving ourselves [if we manage our time well by reading Quran, praying, helping out others, holding our tongue back from insulting others, not getting mad or grumpy, eating before Fajar prayer aka doing Sahri, and all the other good stuff]. During this blessed month, the Satan is locked up, blessings and rewards are multiplied. Its just a great feeling. Its not all about the food [which is great every year, Thank God for that too…this however should make us also realize that we are so lucky to have what we do, some people actually die of hunger or are being killed in Syria, Palestine, and Burma as we speak!]. The month of Ramadan is supposed to make more grateful what what we have; the best thing about it is the generosity factor. It makes us more selfless and humble to the people around us. I am so glad Ramadan is finally coming and I hope I live to taste its sweetness; you never know when you are going to die. Hopefully we Muslims can make the best of this month and May Allah shower us with many blessing and His mercy. Ameen. Ya Allah, please guide us all on the right path. Ameen.

Transliteration: Allahumma innaka ‘affuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni.

Meaning: O Allah You are The One Who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me.
