Day 18

So, I am in chicago again…and have exams this week. Dua for me, please. Anyway, I wanted talk about my day from yesterday. My Guy was in Chicago for the weekend and so, yesterday was his last day here and he left for NY early morning. So yesterday, everything horrid was happening…like in the beginning, and throughout the day [Satan and his tactics, urg]. People weren’t showing much interest in the activities I planned, so I tried to give up this assumed position and let them get a hit at it. I don’t know what happened, but it was chaos. And for some reason, there was so much misunderstanding going on. I didn’t know what to do. OH, BTW, it doesn’t matter if my readers don’t understand what I am talking about…hahaha I blab like a…blabber? [those are B’s not D’s].

So, people said some intense things. LIKE WHAT. Idk if it was because of the moment, or because that’s how they actually felt…None the less, I know you aren’t supposed to say things like that to scare the other people. Well, I felt there was some truth in it, cause’ people say what they actually feel when they are angry, right? I heard that phrase many times. So I couldn’t hold it in, like I wasn’t sure, the confusion made me burst…not pretty, I tell you. I asked…and yup, it seems like ————————————-. Don’t want to talk about this anymore. The day continues, we couldn’t find a place to eat at first. But, patience is key and got some yummy grilled salmon! Then, dinner was interesting…and AMAZING, after the cab driver got us lost and all of course. Every thing worked out, despite many questions unresolved…but thats not the point.

The point is, “Everything happens for a reason. And the overall day turns out better than the mishaps of the day”.

Salam. Peace!

Day 12

Its all about perspective and your level of understanding. Also, so very useless to argue with the ignorant people, who have been brainwashed by what they see around them and start accepting that lifestyle, not because its the ‘norm’ these days, but also because its easy…a pleasurable style of living. You can’t force someone to live another way… Only dua for them that Allah the Mighty and Supreme, will turn their hearts and give them understanding and guide them on the Right path.

I wish some people would just see things how they are meant to be instead of trying to reason with what their ego wants or doesn’t. Be stronger than that!!!

If only. And the mother prays for her child morning and night. If only, you are able to pull the curtains from your eyes. May Allah guide us all. Ameen.

Salam. Peace!

Ramadan 2014 evrrry day

Well, for a month that is. Ramadan is starting soon, Insha Allah. It might start this Saturday or Sunday!!! Oh my Allah, can you believe it!? We are about to experience the blessed month once again! Last year I wrote a short post about it [I think I hyperlinked it correctly]. This year I am planning [because I plan everything…smh] to write a blog post everyday for Ramadan. I know, I know, “but you’re such a bad blogger blah blah blah. You always say you will post more often…blah blah blah.” Yea, but I am trying to change that. Lets see how it goes.

Oh, and I am not going to write about some random useless situation that I experienced during the day, ’cause I don’t do much besides sleep during my breaks I am instead going to write such events or situations we all might be dealing with and how to link it to Islam. Ramadan is such a special month [read the link I have above], I want to always be thinking about the religion, God [Allah], the Prophet (Peace be upon him), and everything related. So, I will, with Allah’s help, not waste my time doing dumb stuff, but instead will try to gain as much knowledge and act on that. Its tough… I will control my ego and put up my faith before anything Insha Allah. I will pray and read Quran and try to be a better Muslim and a better human and I will stop writing run on sentences [well, maybe not the last one].

All I want from you guys, if you are still here…Idk many people stopped reading my posts. I think its ’cause I dont write routinely [but thats going to change, remember?]. Anyway, all I want from ‘whoever’ is still reading my posts, to encourage me and one another to be a better person, someone who wants to learn about the world, its Creator, the lessons taught from the beloved Prophet (Peace be upon him), things that are bound to happen aka DEATH and how to prepare for it. So, all I ask from you is to, after reading each post, please comment on your thoughts, so I keep going, at least for the month of Ramadan. Thanks.
Peace out.

What turns you ‘on’ ?

I was going to answer the question myself, but now I am curious about other people’s answers. Anyway, I will answer it. First off, this post has been in my mind for a long time. Ha…well since I ‘tweeted’ it. You see, I like twitter a lot. Its so…so…so much fun!!! So coming back to the topic: Piety is what turns Eva626 ‘on’ [whatever ‘on’ means LOL].

Let me break it down for you. I think I would like to say this, because I feel that a person who is pious has all the qualities:

– Faith, Awareness and Love for God: This is a biggy, because if a person submits his/her will to God, he will follow the rules of God and will make life worth living. I went through this bullet point in this post: Sharing is Caring. All in all, you become similar to that person by being with that person.

-Cleanliness: Everyone needs that. Since cleanliness is half of Islam the pious person will be clean and keep his/her environment clean. You will sniff the amazing hot chocolate scent every time you stand next to the person [or whatever aroma makes you smile and remind you that this person has good hygiene]. “Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.” (2: 22)

-Health: The person takes care of his/her body health wise. Not only will a healthy body be productive, youthful, attractive (LOL), not smell, but also it will be able to follow through with regular prayer and awareness of God. “Eat of what is lawful and wholesome on the earth”(2:168). “And He enforced the balance. That you exceed not the bounds; but observe the balance strictly; and fall not short thereof ” (55:7–9).  The last Prophet of God (Peace Be Upon Him) said: ‘ No human being has ever filled a container worse than his own stomach. The son of Adam needs no more than a few morsels of food to keep up his strength, doing so he should consider that a third of his stomach is for food, a third for drink and a third for breathing’ (Ibn Maja).  [Ha…and NOW nutritionists suggest this!]

-Manners: This is a major one. Islam is big on manners and etiquette; pious Muslims keep their manners in check. This is a plus since no one likes when others sneeze on you, yell at you, curse, become arrogant, or even talk to much. In Islam, silence is intelligence. Arguments just keep going and going, making the whole relationship chaotic. Table manners tie into this too as well as treating others the way you would want to be treated. …Abu Darda’ reported that the Prophet of Allah, upon him be peace, said, “Nothing is weightier on the Scale of Deeds than one’s good manners.” Hadith – Bukhari’s Book of Manners #271, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ahmad, and Ibn Hibban.”

-Kindness: A kind person will give you joy and a sense of happiness. The trait might rub off on you. Also, kindness and love bring humanity closer together.  ‘Aisha relates, “Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) was very softhearted, the kindliest of all. He laughed often and smiled much.” “. The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) also did house chores; a helpful and caring man he was.

There are more characteristics that fall under piety…All in all, Piety turns me ‘on’. [Hope this doesn’t sound too awkward]

My perfect Roti with black lentils. MAD GOOD!

That yumminess was just a random note for the food lovers. PEACE and Happy 4th of July…I feel so patriotic!!! America ❤
