Ode to the Oppressed

Invade their home, pull the children out to the streets

Beat them and laugh, watching them bleed.

In self defense, this tiny soul threw a rock

In response the powers through a bomb, mighty and strong

Prisoners in Palestine, in cells without trial or reason

No one helps the helpless; everyone sides with the wrong

Mass murder of unarmed people in Burma, this hidden crime risen to a high

Injustice by outsiders in Syria, the pain seems to never stop their cries

Genocide by Zionists all around Gaza, weapons toward that child standing in terror.

Mothers distracting their children from the situation to cover their fright.

If not us, then who will spread the news and shed the light.

The media, being sold to the big guns of the world, playing the game of war.

When will we take a stand and attempt the roar?

Feminism…ok, just shut up.

Not all females are feminists. I mean what is feminism anyway? Flinging your headscarfs out the window or worse…other things as was done in the 1960s in America. That is not feminism…sorry to burst your tiny bubble, but getting rid of pieces of clothing from your body only shows how dumb you are. You don’t respect yourself, how will this make others respect you? I mean come on, you are climbing back the “evolutionary” ladder…animals are unclothed, not humans. Clothes are made to cover us and protect our body parts, not show them off. Ew thats disgusting…ok I am done talking almost naked people.

Just know this, modesty = feminism. With modesty comes pulling out of current social pressures, for example Barbie. Hopefully now you understand. What if you WANT to show off to people, just so they can judge you even more…thats your problem. Good luck with living your life based on what others “impose” on you. There is more to life then just people (of course you are supposed to care about people, their feelings, possessions, ideas, thoughts, humanity, etc… but I mean about what people think about YOU in particular). Everyone is supposed to respect one another…its ethics and morals, no matter what religion or ideas you follow. Ok back to ‘feminism’.

I don’t believe in the type of Feminism that most people think about when they think of this term. They think its about Females ruling the world (that said, what makes this right and then what makes Men ruling the world wrong?…you want to dominate over the other gender…is that it?) This doesn’t make sense to me (not that it matters lol). I think that males and females have to work together in this world for the sake of humanity…even though today’s era is somewhat lost on common sense.

Honestly speaking, the most rights of women I have learned, read about, and am trying to follow is in Islam. Females were given the right to inheritance, work for their own satisfaction and self, vote, counted in socitey more than 1400 years ago by way of Islam. That is way before the US or anyother country or group sought existance of them. If you haven’t seen the video I shared in one of my posts, please do so, there is a segment where it touches the questions of rights of females in it. Females have been honored so much in Islam. This post can go on and on about this topic but I will cut it short and leave you with this picture below. Hopefully it will clear some misconceptions that society has fogged up and hid from your innocent minds:

“The status of Women is so high in Islam, that even Men wish they were Women”

#Truthis Ya’ll are just ignorant, son.

Sorry for the tempting who-ever-talks-like-this blog post title. Hash-tagging, or number signs in front of words without spaces, should be limited to twitter/tweets. The word ‘Ya’ll’ should never be used out side of the southern deserted areas, and is unacceptable within my hearing range. However, calling people ‘son’ is ok [LOL]. Moving on, I have actually heard many statements, questions, and sayings that are just dumb. People have to open up books or the internet and try to learn stuff, like why certain people do certain things…Yea, I am talking about the ignorant people who come in contact with Islam in some way or another.

Ignorance is not bliss. Its laziness, dumb, embarrassing, and you’re not being an active learner while living the life you were given. Life is not all fun and games…there are things  you have to look into. You were given a brain, so use it. Hmmm, there has to be a way not to sound as harsh as I do right now. Anyway, I have heard or saw people using such statements/words/questions concerning Islam without thinking:

1- “That thing is so pretty on you, but it must be very hard for your women.”: Its called a “Hijab” and is worn to protect the female’s beauty and modesty because in Islam, females are pearls that should be hidden and not be shown to the world so random people can drool over her [directing people with dirty minds]. Its a form of protection God has told females to hold for their own benefit. This way she can display her thoughts, ideas and actions before her beauty. Its an honor. Its not hard…its not oppression lol. I don’t understand how ‘liberation’ or ‘modernism’ is to take off all your clothes, & roam around half naked in front of everyone…then shouldn’t naked animals be the most advanced species? Some people just don’t get it. The point was, women in Islam are supposed to cover themselves (as did Mary (May God be pleased with her), mother of Jesus (May God be pleased with Him) and all the other modest women in history) so that they are liberated from the social pressures around them. DUH.

2- “That terrorist.”: terrorist – a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities. And the Arabic word salaam (سلام) (“peace”) has the same root as the word Islam., meaning submission to the One God. Total opposites; enough said. In Islam a person cannot take another’s life, let alone their own. Only God gives life and gives death.

3- “How can you believe in a God that discourages homosexuality?”: Warning, I know this may be a sensitive topic to some as displayed by society now-a-days, but I just have to say this. Its not real, or humane. Just cause society/media/fashion industry/celebs encourage such things, it doesn’t make them right…think about it logically. Even in a scientific sense, why would evolution turn to a point where it would just randomly make up a few kinks and stop its own process. Don’t attack me just yet, first watch this VIDEO. I know many of you have already made up your mind before you might click the video link…its whatever, if you want to remain in ignorance. Btw, you not supposed hate or dislike any type of people; people are people, you can’t not like them for their way of living life, Islam doesn’t teach that. I was talking about the act, not people.

4- “Why would you want to live your life following a certain way of life, when you can make up your own.”: And you are also arrogant and selfish. First, think about who gave you this life so you can live it…stop using it as your ‘own’, cause its not yours. You were put on this earth, given such favors for a reason. If someone were to give you something and you had to return it to them at the end, wouldn’t you treat that ‘borrowed’ possession as how they told you to?

Hopefully, everyone here still likes me LOLOL [now please follow me on twitter] . If you don’t, then i guess you don’t…its ok.

P.S. Ramadan ended a few days ago and Eid was awesome!

Hopefully we all utilized our summer the best way we could have, be it relaxing, learning and experiencing knew things, working, etc…I can’t wait to read what everyone did this summer. Peace out.

What turns you ‘on’ ?

I was going to answer the question myself, but now I am curious about other people’s answers. Anyway, I will answer it. First off, this post has been in my mind for a long time. Ha…well since I ‘tweeted’ it. You see, I like twitter a lot. Its so…so…so much fun!!! So coming back to the topic: Piety is what turns Eva626 ‘on’ [whatever ‘on’ means LOL].

Let me break it down for you. I think I would like to say this, because I feel that a person who is pious has all the qualities:

– Faith, Awareness and Love for God: This is a biggy, because if a person submits his/her will to God, he will follow the rules of God and will make life worth living. I went through this bullet point in this post: Sharing is Caring. All in all, you become similar to that person by being with that person.

-Cleanliness: Everyone needs that. Since cleanliness is half of Islam the pious person will be clean and keep his/her environment clean. You will sniff the amazing hot chocolate scent every time you stand next to the person [or whatever aroma makes you smile and remind you that this person has good hygiene]. “Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.” (2: 22)

-Health: The person takes care of his/her body health wise. Not only will a healthy body be productive, youthful, attractive (LOL), not smell, but also it will be able to follow through with regular prayer and awareness of God. “Eat of what is lawful and wholesome on the earth”(2:168). “And He enforced the balance. That you exceed not the bounds; but observe the balance strictly; and fall not short thereof ” (55:7–9).  The last Prophet of God (Peace Be Upon Him) said: ‘ No human being has ever filled a container worse than his own stomach. The son of Adam needs no more than a few morsels of food to keep up his strength, doing so he should consider that a third of his stomach is for food, a third for drink and a third for breathing’ (Ibn Maja).  [Ha…and NOW nutritionists suggest this!]

-Manners: This is a major one. Islam is big on manners and etiquette; pious Muslims keep their manners in check. This is a plus since no one likes when others sneeze on you, yell at you, curse, become arrogant, or even talk to much. In Islam, silence is intelligence. Arguments just keep going and going, making the whole relationship chaotic. Table manners tie into this too as well as treating others the way you would want to be treated. …Abu Darda’ reported that the Prophet of Allah, upon him be peace, said, “Nothing is weightier on the Scale of Deeds than one’s good manners.” Hadith – Bukhari’s Book of Manners #271, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ahmad, and Ibn Hibban.”

-Kindness: A kind person will give you joy and a sense of happiness. The trait might rub off on you. Also, kindness and love bring humanity closer together.  ‘Aisha relates, “Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) was very softhearted, the kindliest of all. He laughed often and smiled much.” “. The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) also did house chores; a helpful and caring man he was.

There are more characteristics that fall under piety…All in all, Piety turns me ‘on’. [Hope this doesn’t sound too awkward]

My perfect Roti with black lentils. MAD GOOD!

That yumminess was just a random note for the food lovers. PEACE and Happy 4th of July…I feel so patriotic!!! America ❤

Its a shame I haven’t done much

First off, disregard the previous post about the delicious cake [I drool while typing this]. I am not sure if most people reading this have seen other Facebook users change their profile picture to help support the imprisoned people in Palestine. I have done the same for my private Facebook  account. I am having the same feeling as I had during the whole KONY thing. The most I do to help is post articles of the news and injustice on my page, talk to people about it, and yea, thats it. It is the same when ever I watch the news about Pakistan. There was this incident where the government officials were not cleaning up the water supply in some area and when a reporter went to interview this official,  he obviously did not care. The reporter said that he saw dead dogs in the water…the government official replied, ” your talking about a dog?…people fall into the water too”. Thats it [there was probably more but I have a hard time  understanding news in urdu, because its not in english. And there is probably a better way to explain my incomprehension. Whatever]. Anyway back to the issue. I feel like doing something; when I do I will definitely post it to satisfy myself. Or I won’t. LOL.

The situation with palestine has been going on for a long time. The Israeli officers grab any Palestinian from their homes, imprison them without any trial for no reason. Yes, I am against hard-hearted people, and so I am against these Israeli oppressors.   [Note: I always have this thing going on in my head that if someone is reading this, they might roll their eyes and think how fake a person can be. Just saying..its kinda ridiculous but I don’t care. I write what feel is right {if that made any sense at all..if it didn’t, just ignore it}]

Free Palestine!

Things-that-I-am-not-sure-will-help-that-I-am-doing-to-help:

-Trying to be a better person (What I was taught: if you want to change the world, change yourself for the better first)

-Spreading awareness via fb page and blog

-Charity (I always doubt my money is going where I want it to go and also I don’t work so I have to save up then give. Its a long process)

Any ideas on how I can help the people being oppressed? How are you helping?
